Add to Outlook/Calendar Option


On April 27th, 2004 we added a new upgrade to the Calendar Module within the CardinalWare system which allows your users to add calendar events to their MS Outlook Calendar or PIM.

This feature is only available to those accounts which have the CardinalCalendar application. You can control whether this feature is on/off for each Calendar you create. To toggle this feature on for an existing calendar, go to your Calendar List in the CardinalWare Admin area. Next, Edit the calendar you wish to enable the feature for. On the Calendar Edit/Add Form under the "Preferences" tab, toggle the option for "Show Add to Outlook/Calendar Button" to "Yes".

Once the feature is enabled the Calendar Listing will have a new icon/button next to each event as well as on the Event view page. Depending on whether the event is recurring or not, it will display a button to add the single/recurring event to the user's Outlook calendar.

NOTE: There is a bug in MS Outlook 2000 which does not handle Monthly Recurring events properly. Users may get a "cannot import calendar" error. This is not a problem with Outlook 2003 or other event types.
